Trackman iO vs Trackman 4

Trackman 4 uses a dual radar and camera system, while Trackman iO uses dual radar only. Trackman 4 offers more comprehensive data points and is known for higher precision, while Trackman iO is more portable, more user-friendly and better suited to a broader range of golfers. The right choice depends on whether maximum data accuracy and advanced simulation features (Trackman 4) or portability and ease of use (Trackman iO) matter most to you.

What Trackman tracks

Trackman iO tracks more than 40 parameters of club and ball data in real time, including:

• Club speed — the linear speed of the club head's geometric centre just prior to first contact with the ball.
• Attack angle — the up or down movement of the club head's geometric centre at the time of maximum compression.
• Dynamic loft — the vertical angle of the club face at the point of contact at the time of maximum compression.
• Club path — the in-to-out or out-to-in movement of the club head's geometric centre at the time of maximum compression.

Courses

Your simulator comes with an extensive library of courses rendered to a very high standard, including Valderrama, Muirfield Village, PGA National and St Andrews. Courses are mapped using drone flyover and 3D lidar scanning to capture bunkers, fairways and greens in fine detail.

Software

An annual Trackman software subscription — purchased directly through Trackman as part of registration — gives access to its full suite of player development and entertainment applications, used daily by leading players and coaches.

Room size and specifications

You need enough room to swing a club freely; exact dimensions vary depending on the enclosure you choose. We recommend a space of at least 3m high, 5m wide and 6m long for a full simulator setup. Get in touch for room depth recommendations tailored to your space.

Trackman iO is not supported on laptops.

Notes

• Virtual Golf software works only with Trackman 4 and Trackman iO, and requires an up-to-date licence.
• TPS does not support Intel Iris Xe graphics or AMD processors.
• Using a different PC specification may require adjusting settings or reducing resolution.
